Microscopic endodontics in Brno

We do everything we can to save your tooth

Endodontic treatment means treating the inside of the tooth — the root canals. We carry it out under a surgical microscope, which improves the chance of keeping even a tooth that would otherwise face extraction.

We do everything we can to save your tooth
What microscopic endodontics is

Cleaning and filling the root canals perfectly is only possible under a microscope

The pulp is most often damaged by extensive decay or by injury. The aim of endodontic treatment is to save the tooth and prevent further inflammation at the root. Success depends on thoroughly cleaning, widening, disinfecting and perfectly filling the root canal — and that is only possible with a microscope. The treatment is painless and is carried out under local anaesthetic. Re-endodontic treatment means re-treating canals that were treated in the past but where the inflammation has returned or the original treatment was incomplete.

When is endodontic treatment the right choice?

  • The pulp is inflamed or has died as a result of decay or injury

  • The tooth hurts when you bite, in response to heat, or at night

  • An X-ray shows inflammation at the root of the tooth

  • The tooth has had root canal treatment before and the problems keep returning (re-endodontics)

  • You want to save a tooth that is at risk of extraction

Treatment process

How root canal treatment works

  1. 1) Examination and diagnosis

We assess the condition of the tooth, take an X-ray and confirm whether the tooth can be saved by endodontic treatment.

  2. 2) Local anaesthetic and isolating the tooth

The treatment is painless and is carried out under local anaesthetic. We isolate the tooth so that bacteria from saliva cannot enter the canals.

  3. 3) Cleaning and disinfecting the canals under the microscope

Under high magnification we clean, widen and disinfect the canals thoroughly — including those that are invisible to the naked eye.

  4. 4) Filling the root canals perfectly

We fill the cleaned canals completely, to prevent further inflammation developing at the root of the tooth.

  5. 5) Rebuilding the tooth and follow-up

We restore the tooth with a filling or a crown and verify the result on a follow-up X-ray.

Doporučuji🤝

Velmi milý a ochotný kolektiv. Chodíme moc rádi. 🤩🫠

Answers to the questions patients ask before their visit

No. We carry it out under local anaesthetic and it is painless. The tooth may be tender for a few days afterwards, which is a normal reaction.
Root canals are structures measured in tenths of a millimetre. A microscope makes it possible to find and treat canals that are invisible to the naked eye — and the success of the whole treatment depends precisely on cleaning and filling them perfectly.
Re-treating canals that were treated in the past but where the inflammation has returned or the original treatment was incomplete. Under a microscope we can remove the old root fillings and treat the tooth again.
It is one of the most time-consuming procedures in dentistry — it demands experience, patience and first-class equipment. Depending on how complex the case is, it takes one visit or several.
Your own tooth is always the best option. Endodontic treatment makes it possible to keep teeth that would otherwise have to be extracted — and to avoid replacing a missing tooth.
