MDDr. Iveta Shorná

MDDr. Iveta Shorná studied Dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in Brno, graduating in 2018.

Already during her studies she deepened her knowledge and skills through placements, courses and congresses not only in the Czech Republic but also in Liechtenstein, Poland and Belgium; she gained further international experience in 2016, when she worked for two months at Diane McAlister Dental Surgery in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

While studying she spent four years as National Scientific Officer for the Czech Dental Students' Association, coordinating placements and the students' scientific programme, and she began to place a strong emphasis on prevention — for another four years she taught dental hygiene to pre-school and school-age children through the Dental Prevention programme and also acted as its coordinator for the Brno faculty.

In 2015 she graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Administration at the same university; her bachelor's thesis dealt with the funding of dental care in the Czech Republic.

Among her most remarkable professional and personal experiences is her part in the International Dental Volunteer Convoy in Sudan, organised by the University of Khartoum in the Sinnar region.

After completing her studies she took a further two-month placement, this time in Varese, Italy (Ospedale di Circolo Fondazione Macchi, Ospedale Filippo del Ponte, Dipartimenti di medicina e chirurgia, Università degli Studi dell'Insubria, led by Davide Farronato), after which she joined the team at the Onedent dental centre.
